Amy K Bormet

Amy K Bormet is a pianist, vocalist, and composer, known for her dedication to creating new music. In 2011, to foster creative community spaces – by, and for, women and non-binary musicians – Amy K Bormet created the Washington Women in Jazz Festival. She directs, finances, and performs with Washington Women In Jazz to celebrate the women and non-binary artists of DC’s renowned improvisational music communities.  Bormet's performances and compositions reflect her deep musical knowledge and fearless experimentation, seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, singer-songwriter, and the avant-garde.  

Blasé

Since 2017, DMV-based Pop/R&B artists blasé and mikewave have established their presence in the local music scene. In addition to their unique and visceral songwriting, they pride themselves in being self taught in production and engineering, which is reflected in all of their releases. In 2020, blasé and mikewave co-released their debut concept album, Vitae, which tells a compelling story of relationships and personal development, emphasizing self love. They are continually evolving, promising more exciting music and performances.

Carmichael

CARMICHAEL. is a multi-faceted artist from the Washington, DC area. His unique sound blends together an array of genres. His music embodies emotional and honest topics ranging from mental health to heartbreak. “CARMICHAEL. has a way with words, during a time where there is a lack of lyricist, he is a refreshing sharp witted song writer”(Roadie Metal Magazine).

Cynthia Angelica

Cynthia Angelica is a Wammie award-winning spiritual pop artist based in Maryland. Her

debut album, Fears and Dreams, explores the intersection of fear and faith, transforming

fear into a positive and driving emotion and allowing audiences to tap into strength they

did not realize they had.

Jacob Bennett

Jacob Bennett is a folk-rock singer-songwriter based out of Washington, D.C. His latest acoustic album, "Heathen," (2022) explores gender identity, lost friendships, and weird art films. He released a self-titled acoustic album in 2020, and a full-band EP called "Downer" in 2021.

Jahnel Daliya

Based in Northern Virginia, singer songwriter Jahnel Daliya brings her unique blend of folk, pop and rock fueled by soulful vocals and songwriting aimed at finding the light in this heavy but beautiful world. Raised in the projects of Brooklyn, New York Jahnel grew up to the sounds of a busy city and 1980’s soul, pop, and R&B music where she found her love for music singing along to Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul. Her songwriting journey began late in 2013 which led to solo and band performances at some popular music festivals like Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival, fairs, conferences and music clubs such as Iota Club and Cafe, Black Cat and the 9:30 Club in the DMV.

Melanie McDowell

DC-based acoustic folk singer-songwriter Melanie McDowell’s songs explore the questions, anxieties and longings that lurk beneath the skin and yearn to be let free. Her music is both calming and fiery, comforting and tear-inducing, soft and powerful. Melanie's voice is rich, emotionally honest and fiercely vulnerable. She is on a mission to make people feel less alone and more understood, and her songs offer just that.

Sarah Fridrich

Sarah Frances Fridrich is singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and one 1/2 of @stringmamas.  She has been recognized in the Songwriters of Washington’s Mid-Atlantic Song Contest for her original songs "Anvil" (2011 Finalist), “Brighter” (2015 Honorable Mention), and “Oh, Girl” (2019 Finalist).  She has released several collections of her original indie-rock / folk-pop songs including: You Call That Brave (2011), Lighter Bones (2016), and Last Brick Laid (2017).  She is, also, a co-host / producer for the @aboutasongpodcast, and a proud mother of a vibrant 3-year-old daughter.

Sarah Souders

Music teacher by day, book fiend by night, and acoustic singer-songwriter every moment in between, Sarah writes about what hurts. She sings about her experience with being mentally and chronically ill in a world not prepared to handle her worst. She drinks tea and pets her cats and holds her partner's hand and sings and, most of all, feels deeply.
